A visit from the mounted police

A lovely surprise on a Friday afternoon. One of our parents who works for the mounted police, kindly brought the newest member of the team to visit school. Each class got the opportunity to meet the two police horses, Morecombe and Abbeystead. We learnt about the size of them and Morecombe who is six years old has only just joined the force. He is currently in training and getting used to loud noises, vehicles and larger crowds. Abbey is 17 hands high and Morecombe even taller at 18 hands high. We asked lots of questions and it was a great opportunity.
