Education at home
In light of current advice to self isolate families should any member of the family be displaying symptoms, I would like to support parents by providing some key links to learning at home.
If your child is unwell, there is no expectation that these activities will be done. however if your child is self isolating with the family, you may want to offer learning and structure to your day. We would look forward to sharing your child's learning with them on their return.
If you have any questions or need anything in relation to this, please don't hesitate to email school. Head@bretherton.lancs.sch. or bursar@bretherton.lancs.sch.uk or call 01772 600431.
Below are a couple of ideas that may help you.

Some children could ( if access to ipad or mobile) use voice recording to share learning, create podcasts and video journals.
Be creative on a big scale - 3d models, make a scarcrow for the WI event later this year, sew a bag or toy using old material, do some gardening ( weather dependent!)
This could also be valuable time to discuss - debate- persuade- problem solve- challenge - puzzles and most of all give each other time. Try and shield your children from the news and give them positive messages - plan events, trips ( even if pretending and just costing) gratitude books, positive thought and affirmations ( could even create their own)
Providing times for your children to communicate with others over the telephone will also help them feel 'near' their friends.
Learning can look and feel different at home than at school but it is still learning. Let's celebrate your children and their interests at this difficult time - it will help our wellbeing too as adults are trying to juggle the many aspects of their lives that are different at the moment.
