Sports Day Cancelled, by Mrs Moxham

Dear Parent,

Despite our best efforts to be hopeful and optimistic, after the relentless rain yesterday, the field is so wet that even with a dry and sunny rest of today, it would not be suitable or safe to run on This means that Sports Day on Friday will be cancelled and rearranged for after the holidays. Our sports day 2 date was Friday 21^st June, however on our return to school, we will consider the longer range weather forecast and confirm the date then.

This also means that the PTFA summer fair will be rearranged along side it. The PTFA will co-ordinate how we can transfer all the plans to the future date.

That is all except the Bretherton Bake Off which will go ahead as planned. All cakes can be brought into school with your child's name and class, so that they can be judged anonymously and the winners announced on Friday. As they were originally planned to be available for sale at the Fair, we would like to offer them for sale after school on Friday so please bring some cash along for a Bank Holiday Weekend treat.

If children can come in as usual on Friday in full school uniform and bring their school bags and chromebooks if applicable so we can have a day of learning. We will celebrate birthdays and certificates at celebration worship at 2.45.

The Hub will be available as usual so please book them on before midnight to secure the place and Lego club will also be available.

Thank you for your understanding as we know how challenging it can be to rearrange time off work and aim to give you good notice for the next opportunity.

Thanks to Stanley Mason for our fabulous new timeline. Bretherton Endowed school and Bank Hall, Preston Docks and Cotton Mills alongside world and UK history.. just dates and finishing touches to do. The children have loved thinking what is coming next and have chosen some of the pictures / periods of history. Queen Elizabeth is significant person missing- she'll be added at the weekend.

Consulting for our Admission Arrangements for Sept 2025, by Mrs Moxham

Every 7 Year , the Governors of Bretherton Endowed will consult on it's admissions policy. There are no changes to be made to our policy, however this year we will be consulting with our school community and the Local Authority.

The Governors propose no changes as the pupil admission number fits the size of building and classes on offer and we would be unable to facilitate any increases due to classroom sizes, staffing and school budget.

Yipee! Our BBC MicroBit's have arrived, by Mrs Moxham
