Clubs and enrichment in and after school
We provide a huge amount of clubs and sessions
These are provided for by our amazing staff and talented specialists. The clubs we have on offer are available to view on our school calendar via the website.
We offer different types of clubs over the year.
Staff led clubs - these are run by school staff and school staff follow Bretherton Endowed's safeguarding policy and proceedures. Examples of these clubs are science, bingo, dance, gardening, eco, computing , choir. Lego, Craft and all Hub clubs.
School bought in clubs- these are clubs that are run by third party provider who the school is paying to lead after school clubs. The providers credentials for working with children including qualifications and DBS are sought. We check their safeguarding policy , code of conduct and risk assessments to ensure they are robust and inline with our policies. Their staff will supervise the children for the time of the club and hand them to parents or the Hub after. They hold the responsibility for safeguarding children ( Transfer of Control) whilst they are in the club and handing to parents at the end. However, to comply with GDPR, if there is an emergency or parents need to be contacted, a school staff member will do this. Examples of these in school are Spanish, Football, Piano, Rugby, Guitar
Third party providers - these are clubs where the third party providers lease school to provide their sessions. They communicate with parent directly and get parents payments direct. This involves the transfer of control protocol and all the necessary checks on qualifications and DBS and safeguarding will be checked to assure ourselves of their competency for supervision and the skills needed for the club. All communications for these clubs will be with the third party provider. Examples of these in the past have been art, tennis.
