Science experiment- extracting iron from cereal!

Today we considered the question, 'What do robots like for breakfast?'  We discussed our favourite breakfast choices and chose iron for the robots. 

We looked at different cereals and realised they contained iron so decided to see if we could extract the iron ourselves. We pounded the cereal until it was a fine powder then used magnets to try to detect the iron. Some of us were successful!
