Science Extracting DNA from a Banana

There was much excitement today as we performed our experiment in extracting DNA from a banana.  Class 4 were very sensible following all the instructions and asked well thought through questions.  If we can extract the DNA from a banana and could potentially use it to create a banana, could we do it with any living thing?  Which brought us to discussions about Jurassic Park!  We love enquiring minds.
